The Star CLP heavy duty cantilever work platforms provide elevated deck access in locations where the support structure is directly below only part of the platform, and the working area must extend out over equipment, a ledge, or a structure that cannot be stood on. The cantilever configuration is the only solution for overhead access to tall vessels, tanks, mixing equipment, and machinery where the base footprint cannot be positioned directly under the work area. The step count indicates the access stair length, which determines the deck height. The cantilever extension of the platform deck beyond the base footprint is a fixed geometry per model.

The Cantilever Design

The CLP base sits on the floor adjacent to the equipment or vessel. The staircase rises and the deck platform extends out horizontally over the item being serviced. This means the worker stands directly above the target area without the platform base needing to be underneath it. This configuration is critical for mixing vessels, tanks with hatches on top, and machinery where access from directly above is needed but the sides of the equipment prevent a standard platform from being positioned under the work point.

Applications

Food and beverage manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, chemical processing, and process plant maintenance are the primary applications for cantilever platforms. Any facility with tanks, vessels, or mixing equipment that requires regular access to the top or interior will use either a cantilever platform or a custom access structure.
