Mezzanine ladders provide fixed vertical access between a ground floor level and a mezzanine floor or elevated storage platform. Unlike portable ladders, mezzanine ladders are semi-permanent installations designed to serve a specific fixed access point repeatedly over the building's operational life. The Star Mezzanine Ladder range covers clear height requirements from 2.1 m to 3.9 m in incremental steps, accommodating the most common Australian mezzanine and raised floor heights.

Star Mezzanine Ladder Range

The Star range covers clear floor-to-floor heights from 2.1 m to 3.9 m. The height measurement is the clear floor-to-floor height the ladder is designed to service. Each model includes all mounting hardware and is pre-drilled for installation to the mezzanine platform structure.

Construction and Safety

Star Mezzanine Ladders are welded aluminium with D-rung steps and include a safety cage frame for the upper section of the access run. The cage provides fall protection for the ascending and descending worker without requiring additional fall arrest equipment at the ladder location. The base foot is designed for concrete floor anchoring using standard chemical anchors or mechanical fixings.

Installation

Mezzanine ladders are installed permanently as part of the mezzanine structure. The base anchors to the lower floor and the top section mounts to the mezzanine edge beam or platform frame. Clear height should be measured from finished floor to finished floor, and the ladder model selected should match this measurement. Contact us if the required height falls between standard models.

When to Use a Stair Instead

For mezzanine access points that are used more than a dozen times per day, a stair platform (MSP series) or a fixed aluminium stair is more appropriate than a mezzanine ladder. The ladder is the right solution for infrequent access, emergency egress supplementary routes, and installations where floor space for a stair footprint is not available.
