Landing Platforms
Star Aluminium landing platforms are connection decks designed to attach to the top of SLS self-levelling stair units, creating a horizontal transfer platform, rest deck, or interconnection point for multi-stair runs. They are an integral part of the Star SLS access system and are sized and engineered to mate with both the SLS650 and SLS1200 stair series. Aluminium Platforms stocks the LP1 through LP4 landing platform range.
Star Landing Platform Range
The LP number corresponds to increasing deck size and load capacity. LP1 and LP2 are suited to single-stair applications where a rest point or transfer deck is needed at the top of an SLS run. LP3 and LP4 provide larger deck areas for multi-stair junction configurations or for applications where workers need to stop and work at the landing level rather than immediately proceeding to the next access point.
Integration with SLS Stairs
Landing platforms are engineered to connect directly to the top of SLS650 and SLS1200 stair units using the Star proprietary connection system. This means the landing platform deck height aligns precisely with the top tread of the stair, eliminating the step-up or step-down that occurs when non-matched components are joined. The guardrail continuation between the stair guardrail and the landing platform perimeter rail is also part of the integrated design.
Applications
Multi-level process plant access where stairs connect to an intermediate platform before continuing upward, loading dock access where a landing is needed at the dock height before a vehicle access stair descends to ground level, and outdoor access structures for tanks and silos where a working landing is required at the top of the access stair are the main applications for Star landing platforms.
