Adjustable Work Platforms for Uneven Surfaces

Standard work platforms and ladders require a level floor. Adjustable work platforms solve that problem. Each leg or section adjusts independently, which lets the platform sit level on stairs, slopes, and uneven ground. The deck height stays constant while the legs compensate for the surface beneath.

The range here covers adjustable platform ladders and adjustable-height work platforms from leading manufacturers. These suit staircase painting and decorating, access work on raked or sloped surfaces, and maintenance tasks in buildings where floors are not level.

Key differences from standard platforms

A standard A-frame or work platform is designed for level floors only. Placing one on stairs or a slope creates a tilt that moves the centre of gravity outside the safe zone. Adjustable models use articulating hinges or screw-adjustable legs to compensate, maintaining a level standing surface regardless of what is underneath.

The Bailey adjustable platform ladder is a common choice for painters and decorators who work on stairs regularly. The Indalex and Gorilla adjustable models suit heavier-duty applications and higher platforms.

Load ratings and heights
