Stair Platforms
Stair platforms provide fixed-height elevated deck access via a full staircase approach, designed for industrial facilities where a ladder is not appropriate for the access frequency or load requirements. The stair approach reduces fatigue compared with ladder climbing and allows workers to carry materials and equipment up without risk. Aluminium Platforms stocks Star MSP stair platforms from 2 steps to 14 steps, covering deck heights from low-level machine access through to tall-bay industrial applications.
Star MSP Stair Platform Range
The Star MSP series is the primary stair platform range available at Aluminium Platforms. MSP2 covers low-level access where a safe stair approach is preferred over a step ladder. The range extends through MSP3, MSP4, MSP5, MSP6, MSP7, and continues up to MSP14 for high-bay plant and machinery access. Deck height increases with step count, giving a proportional increase in working height.
Full Perimeter Guardrail System
All MSP stair platforms include full-height guardrails on three sides of the deck, with mid-rail and kickboard to meet Australian Standards for elevated work positions. The enclosed guardrail system means workers do not need separate fall protection equipment when working on the platform at the deck height. For applications above 2 m deck height, this is a significant safety advantage over a platform step ladder or access platform ladder.
When to Choose a Stair Platform
Any access point that is used more than a handful of times per day is a candidate for a stair platform. Ladder fatigue accumulates quickly in high-frequency access environments. The stair approach angle distributes the physical effort more evenly and allows workers to face outward and handle equipment more easily. If workers are currently using an access platform ladder for a fixed access point multiple times per shift, a stair platform will reduce fatigue and improve safety.
Delivery and Configuration
Star MSP stair platforms ship flat-packed and require assembly on site. Most models assemble within one to two hours. Australia-wide delivery. Contact us for custom height configurations and lead time estimates on larger step count models.
