Cantilever Work Platform
Cantilever work platforms allow elevated deck access to locations where the base of the access structure cannot be positioned directly under the work point. The platform deck extends horizontally beyond the base footprint, overreaching tanks, vessels, mixing equipment, or structures that prevent a standard platform from being positioned underneath. The Star CLP series is the purpose-built cantilever work platform range available at Aluminium Platforms, covering CLP3 to CLP10.

The step count determines the deck height at which the cantilever platform extends. The cantilever geometry is fixed for each model, extending the deck a set distance beyond the base footprint to reach the intended work area above the vessel or equipment.
How the Cantilever Works
The CLP base is positioned on the floor adjacent to the vessel or equipment being serviced. The staircase section rises at the standard approach angle and the platform deck is mounted on extended support arms that overhang the equipment. The worker stands on the cantilever deck directly above the tank hatch, valve, agitator, or service point without the platform legs interfering with the equipment body below. The counterbalance engineering in the base frame prevents tipping under the working load.
Industries and Applications
Dairy and food processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical blending, wine and beverage production, and industrial mixing plant are the primary industries that use cantilever platforms. Any production environment with mixing vessels, agitator tanks, pressure vessels, or chemical storage equipment that requires access to the top or interior is a candidate.
Certification and Australian Standards
Star CLP platforms are manufactured to Australian Standards for elevated work platforms and ship with certification data. This documentation is typically required for facility maintenance records and WorkSafe compliance files.
