Planks
Industrial aluminium planks are the standard elevated work surface component used with trestles, scaffolding frames, and fixed support structures to create a working platform at height. They are rated for industrial loading, resist corrosion, and are lighter than steel planks of the same span, which reduces the handling effort during setup and pack-down. Aluminium Platforms stocks Indalex and Staruiju aluminium planks in 225 kg load ratings and lengths from 1.8 m to 5.0 m.
Indalex Industrial Aluminium Planks 225 kg
Indalex aluminium planks are available in 3.0 m and 4.0 m and 5.0 m lengths at 225 kg industrial rating. The 225 kg rating means the plank can support a distributed load of 225 kg across the span, which covers one heavy worker with tools and materials. The plank profile uses a closed-box extrusion for rigidity across the span without excessive weight.
Staruiju Aluminium Planks 225 kg
Staruiju planks are available in 1.8 m, 2.4 m, and 3.0 m lengths at 225 kg. These are an alternative to Indalex for shorter span requirements, particularly where the trestle or scaffold bay width is less than 3.0 m. The Staruiju plank profile uses a similar closed-box section and the non-slip upper surface treatment is comparable to the Indalex equivalent.
Plank Selection by Span
Aluminium plank span must not exceed the rated span for the load being applied. A 3.0 m plank at 225 kg distributed load is rated for its full length when supported at both ends. If the support spacing is greater than the plank length, the plank cannot be used safely. Always confirm the trestle or scaffold bay width against the plank length before purchasing.
Star Trestle Compatibility
All Indalex and Staruiju planks in this category are compatible with the Star Aluminium Trestle for creating elevated work platforms. The trestle and plank combination is a common setup for painting, plastering, and fit-out work at heights from 0.6 m to 1.5 m.
