Folding Platforms
Star Aluminium folding platforms are portable, collapsible work decks that fold flat for compact storage and quick deployment as a standing or kneeling work surface. Unlike trestle-and-plank setups, folding platforms are a single self-contained unit with integral folding legs that set and lock at a fixed working height. The SFP range covers platform widths from 900 mm to 2400 mm.
Star SFP Range
The model number indicates the platform width in millimetres. Models range from SFP900 to SFP2100. All models fold to a compact flat profile for transport and storage.
Setup and Locking
Each SFP platform unfolds from flat to working position in one motion. The integral locking system engages automatically when the legs reach full extension and must be deliberately disengaged to fold the platform back down. This prevents accidental collapse during use. The working height is fixed by the leg length and is consistent across the range at standard platform height for trade use.
Platform Surface
The SFP platform surface uses expanded aluminium mesh for a non-slip working deck that drains water and resists the build-up of dust and debris. The mesh profile also allows fine debris to fall through rather than accumulating on the platform surface and creating a slip hazard.
Applications
Painters and plasterers use folding platforms for large wall surface work where a long continuous deck is more practical than moving a step ladder repeatedly. Fit-out trades use the SFP2100 and larger models as temporary work platforms during ceiling installation. Maintenance teams keep a folding platform on each vehicle for quick deployment at service access points. The fold-flat design means a 2.1 m platform can be stored standing against a wall in a storage room or loaded upright in a ute tray.
